Is it safe to eat liquid smoke (or is it a carcinogenic)?

It is true.

We can fake our food to smell (and taste) as if it were slow cooked in a smoker.

It is called liquid smoke.

It is condensed smoke from fresh cut hickory, mesquite, apple, and pecan wood chips.

Manufacturers capture it at extremely high temperatures and moisture levels.

Then it gets bottled for our tasty enjoyment.

Add a few drops to our food, and it changes EVERYTHING.

I make a mean BBQ sauce and adding liquid smoke brings it up to another level.

Unfortunately, liquid smoke has a bad reputation.

Because some manufacturers mix artificial chemicals to produce it.

And that might be toxic.

A quick check of the label should set the record straight.

I only buy liquid smoke chemical free.
