coffee creamer

Weird: why doesn’t coffee creamer need to be refrigerated?

I am watching people at my local cafe add Coffee-mate to their coffee.

And these coffee creamers have been sitting out unrefrigerated – probably for days… maybe even weeks.

Yet according to the packaging, it says “NO REFRIGERATION NEEDED.”

But this got me thinking, “How can half and half coffee creamers taste good without refrigeration?”

The answer is confusing, controversial (and downright depressing).

Some say the dairy undergoes UTH (Ultrahigh-temperature pasteurization). This method sterilizes everything. It kills off all microorganisms. Finally it is vacuum sealed to block the creamer from going bad.

It is widely accepted that milk treated by UHT has an unopened shelf life of 6 to 9 months.

But the reality is these creamers taste weird any time. And they taste weirder the longer they sit out unrefrigerated.

Non-dairy creamers are concocted in a food lab to mimic real milk and real cream.

Even worse, scientists add chemicals to make creamers as addictive as cigarettes…

Some of the ingredients in creamers include addictive ingredients like sugar, corn syrup solids and HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup).

Another popular ingredient used to moderate coffee’s natural acidity is a phosphate salt known as Dipotassium phosphate.

Dipotassium phosphate is a highly water-soluble salt which is often used as a fertilizer.

And a new study shows inorganic phosphates speeds growth of lung cancer.

Dipotassium Phosphate is synthetically manufactured have many and serious side effects such as:

  • Dizziness
  • Pneumonia
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Asthenia (Weakness)
  • Renal failure (Acute kidney failure)
  • Decreased hemoglobin
  • Irritant to skin and mucous membranes

Some creamers add Mono and Diglicerides to whiten its appearance. This is the same synthetic chemical used in some pesticides.

This article goes into greater detail about the ingredients in half and half coffee creamers.

The bottom line is half and half with real milk and cream needs to be refrigerated…

But non-dairy creamers do not require refrigeration.

I always avoid synthetic and artificially-created foods.

Instead, I go to my local farm to concoct my own half and half coffee creamer.
