sitting is dangerous

Is sitting at a desk as dangerous as smoking cigarettes?

They say sitting is the new smoking.

Is this true? No clue.

But I do know this:

I am in the best shape of my life at age 48.

I stay away from artificial and GMO foods.

I do intensive, short workouts… burst exercises at least four days a week.

Every night, I shoot for a full eight hours of sleep on my heavenly “floatation device” (i.e. waterbed).

I rub coconut oil all over my body – from head to toe – even swish it in my mouth 20 minutes a day.

I do not drink.
I do not smoke.
I do not take any drugs.

Most important, my stress level is near zero. Seriously, almost nothing bothers me.

But then I started feeling faint

A few years ago, I would experience a growing number of low-blood-pressure symptoms.

Twice, I fainted (although it happened once when I saw someone die in front of my eyes).

And recently, I started having numbness and tingling throughout all of my extremities.

Over the last year, it has been a struggle to sleep. I would wake up every few hours with that numbing feeling all over my body.

Of course, doctors will prescribe dangerous prescriptions hoping for a fix.

No thanks.

Get this: prescription-drug side effects (used as directed) are the number one killer of Americans each year.

I tried this simple experiment (and it seems to be working)

To fix these ills on my own, I tested something simple (and free).

Yesterday, instead of sitting in my office chair, I sat on the edge of my seat while writing.

Almost instantly, my numbness and tingling vanished.

And last night, I got uninterrupted sleep for the first time in ages.

“Avoid chairs!”

I remember listening to a podcast about the dangers of sitting.

Berkeley architecture professor Galen Cranz suggested we avoid chairs.

So, I am going to IKEA to buy myself a complete standing desk setup.

I am withdrawing $100 from the cash machine – this is my budget.

Stay tuned for an update. Update: I actually got a great standing desk for just $69.
